Cutty Sark

Cutty Sark is a mixed Scottish whiskey brand, created on March 23, 1923 by the company Berry Bros. & Rudd. Currently, it is produced by the French group La Martiniquaise. The name of this whiskey comes from the famous clipper sailboat Cutty Sark, whose name in turn is inspired by the Scottish term «cutty-sark,» which means short shirt.

Cutty Sark is distinguished by its mixture of malt and grain whiskies, mainly from the Speyside region, which gives it a fruity character and a softness with hints of vanilla. This whiskey was designed for the American market during the Prohibition, becoming a favorite among consumers who were looking for high-quality alternatives to the clandestine alcoholic beverages available at that time.

Since its creation, Cutty Sark has introduced several variants, including Cutty Sark Prohibition and Cutty Sark Storm, in addition to aged versions of 12 and 18 years. The brand has been recognized for its lightness and delicate flavors, which has kept it popular over the years.
